Calvin Brown has started Center court in 2007 to make sure that kids and basketball players of all levels get the needed exposure that they need to become successful high school, college, and pro basketball players.
Calvin Brown, Jr., the President and C.E.O., played high school basketball at Largo, Sr. High and Archbishop Carroll Sr. High locally. Mr. Brown was awarded an athletic scholarship to attend St. Bonaventure University in upstate New York, after one year he transferred to Norfolk State University to further his studies and to continue his athletic career. Mr. Brown played three years of varsity basketball at NSU and is currently the career leader in field goal percentage in the history of the school.
Since leaving NSU, Mr. Brown has had the opportunity to play professional basketball in many countries including: Mexico, Peru, Germany, Sweden, Portugal and others. During his travels, he had the opportunity to meet many international coaches, general managers and team owners, whom he has kept in contact with over the years. Mr. Brown has become known for his abilities to see basketball talent when others do not. Last season, while playing in Mexico.
Mr. Brown suggested to his team owner and coach that they bring in a guard from the USA that he knew could help the team. They brought in that player and their team won the LIMEBA championship. Now Mr. Brown has the opportunity to do similar deeds for more players in our area that only need the exposure to get an opportunity. International teams usually require game film footage and game stats of players that they want to consider. Additionally, we are currently negotiating with several international teams to bring a traveling team to their respective countries after the E.B.A. season is complete.
He uses a lot of former high school/ college standouts who share their experiences good and bad to our kids. Doing things this way will allow our kids benefits that others will not be as fortunate.

Coach Alvin Brown (METROPOLITAN coach) is new to the Pro level scene but not new to the DC and the ranks of basketball elite.Coach Alvin Brown has taken his team to the championship twice in the Jabber Kenner (prestige’s summer league ran in Georgetown) and has coach some of the best talent to come thru the DC area and helped them mature as young men and develop on the courts.
